Intensive Training

The discipleship program remains the base of our training. In addition to the discipling there was a desire from the churches to have something more advanced and formal to help prepare the the present and future leaders.

For the men to be accepted into the advanced training there are certain requirements that must be met. intensivew06

They must remain active in the discipleship program in their local congregation.

Since the student may need to spend an hour to two hours a day studying for the classes, the student must have a letter from their wife stating that they are supporting their husband in this training.

The students attend a 4 hours class once a week. During a module that lasts between 10 and 15 weeks they can only miss 2 nights at the most. Many of them have perfect attendance nevertheless.

The men come from the four congregations with which our team works. There are 15 to 20 men that are presently involved. The basic material for the 10 modules come from the series called “Bible Training for Pastors”. For more information click here.

We do not make the course hard or difficult just to be more intellectual or to weed out people. One of the experiences is that if we give a challenge to the people that is worthy and applicable to their lives, the people put forth the effort. I think we often do not expect enough of people or give them a worth challenge in serving the Lord.
